Going back to basics

Prayer. It’s a powerful thing.

Today a small group gathered at our local church @livefree to sit and pray and be still.

Our pastors words were clear: “Keep it simple. Focus on God, thank Him, sit in gratitude and then be open to what comes up.”

No singing, no hugging (social distancing and COVID protocols strictly followed) just sitting in prayer with the full intention and expectation of God showing up. And he did.

Never forget the power of intention.

You don’t need to sit in a church to tune in with your Creator, but setting up your environment, setting aside time, inviting other faith filled people to gather with you: that’s when breakthroughs happen.

“Real church” will be starting again in a few months, but I was left with the feeling that this is what real church was always about.

No bells and whistles, no agenda. Just Jesus.

Keep it simple, so God’s extraordinary can show up.

“Where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am with them” Matthew 18.20
